Proposed itinerary:

 

SUNDAY 23 AUGUST

Depart from Australia where we will connect with our flight to Cairo.

 

MONDAY 24 AUGUST

Arrive to Cairo where we are met by Inner Faith Travel representatives and transfer to hotel to rest & refresh Afternoon – High Tea at the Marriott (Old Palace) Overnight Cairo.(B-D)

 

TUESDAY 25 AUGUST

After breakfast, we depart for the Giza Pyramids, Valley Temple and Sphinx. After a short lunch stop we will then the drive to the Egyptian Museum where we will visit Tutankhamen’s Treasures and the Royal Mummy Room (allowing approximate 3-4 hours) Overnight Cairo (B-D)

 

WEDNESDAY 26 AUGUST  

After breakfast we will explore Christian Coptic Cairo & the Cave Churches followed by a visit to the Citadel of Sal-a-din. Visit the Moqattam Church. We will visitThe Tentmakers of Cairo sustain a spectacular aspect of Egypt’s living heritage. Their ancestors made the majestic traveling tents of the Ottoman Empire, and today they produce intricate textile artworks that are unique to Egypt. Overnight Cairo. (B-D)

 

THURSDAY 27 AUGUST

After breakfast we fly to Amman. Evening dinner at a Bedouin style restaurant. Overnight Amman. (B-D)

 

FRIDAY 28 AUGUST

Today we visit the Roman ruins in Amman, stopping at Mt Nebo to view the Promised Land as Moses did. We then take the Kings Highway to MADABA and its intricate Byzantine mosaics before finishing our day at the Rose City of PETRA. Overnight Petra (B-D)

 

SATURDAY 29 AUGUST

Our Nabatean guides will lead us into Petra to see the amazing colours as the sunlight reflects on the rock faces.  You may choose to enter Petra by horseback, or to watch the colour changes as you walk, or possible you’d prefer a ride in your own carriage. We will visit the Treasury, Monastery, Roman Theatre, Royal Tombs and the high place of sacrifice. The Rose City of Petra, the ancient capital of the Edomites, is magnificent. SUNDAY 30 AUGUST

We enter into the Promised Land via Allenby Bridge. This afternoon can either be a free time spent soaking in the therapeutic waters of the Dead Sea, shopping or just relaxing in one of the many mineral pools at our resort.   Overnight Dead Sea Resort (B-D)

 

MONDAY 31 AUGUST

Today we ascend by cable car to the mighty fortress of MASADA, the site of the last heroic 3-year stand of 960 Jewish defenders against the Roman Empire. From its heights we enjoy tremendous views of Jordan and the Dead Sea. We can still see the foundations of the Roman Fortresses below. We visit the National Park of EN GEDI where David hid from King Saul before visiting QUMRAN where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered by a shepherd.. Overnight Dead Sea. (B-D)

 

TUESDAY 1 SEPTEMBER

WW1 history today with a visit to Beer Sheva where we visit the Park of the Australian Soldier, the British Cemetery where Australian, New Zealand and British soldiers lay at rest together, and the old Turkish railway station. Visit Tel Sheva ancient town where also can view the plain where the 800 Australian Light horsemen rode into history with their famous charge over a 100 years ago. We will visit the Biblical site of Abraham’s well along with other sites of interest (Anzac Memorial outside Gaza City, security permitting). Next we travel to the Mediterranean coast and Joppa where Paul stayed with the Simon the Tanner and received the vision from God to take the Word to the Gentiles. Overnight Netanya (B-D)

 

WEDNESDAY 2 SEPTEMBER

This morning we travel to the Port of Caesarea, site of Herod’s palace, home of Cornelius & where Paul was brought for trial. We walk by the Roman Aqueduct as we gaze on or paddle in the beautiful waters of the Mediterranean Sea. In the afternoon we continue northward before looking over the magnificent views of the Valley of Jezreel and Megiddo Valley, the large plain where the final battle of Armageddon is prophesied to take place. We then travel on to Mt Carmel and Muhraqa, where Elijah called down fire from Heaven to defeat the prophets of Baal. Travel to Nazareth Village, to experience life as it was during the time of Jesus. We can watch carpenters at work just as Jesus would have watched His father.  On leaving Nazareth we travel onto Galilee, watch as we round the crest of a hill to see the specular Sea of Galilee unfold before our eyes. THURSDAY 3 SEPTEMBER

Today our journey in the footsteps of Jesus takes us to Capernaum, the city of Jesus; we visit the ruins of the synagogue where Jesus performed many miracles. You will see the excavations of St Peters House and visit Tabgha, where Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fishes to feed the multitudes. Ascending to the top of the Mount of Beatitudes where we will read the Sermon on the Mount.  We will then stop for a St Peter’s Fish lunch at a restaurant by the Sea. Then our traditional sailing vessel will take us across the Sea of Galilee, stopping in the middle for a time of reflection and singing. Rejoice! ‘Jesus is alive’. We disembark at Nof Ginnosar a kibbutz located on the shores of the Kinneret where we will see the remains of a boat from the time of Jesus.Overnight Galilee (B-L-D)

 

FRIDAY 4 SEPTEMBER

After our moreish Israeli breakfast we stop at Yardenit Baptismal Site as we leave historic Galilee we travel south through the Jordan Valley to Ein Harod, Gideon’s Spring, Beit Shean, where King Saul’s body was hung on the walls of the city. Then visit ancientJericho.We make our memorial ascent up to Jerusalem as the sun sets over the City of Gold at Mt Scopus. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

 

SATURDAY 5 SEPTEMBER

Today we explore the Herodian, King Herod’s Palace, refuge, administrative centre, and burial place built between 23 and 15 BC.Then make a pilgrimage to where it all began – Bethlehem of Eprahtah, the birthplace of the Messiah.  We will spend some time in the Shepherds Field; visit Manger Square and the Church of the Nativity. Rachael’s Tomb & and a study of Jerome a church father from Italy who translated the Bible into Latin (the Vulgate) followed by a visit to view Olive Wood Carving artisans at Three Arches. Overnight Jerusalem (B-D)

 

SUNDAY 6 SEPTEMBER

We have a full day of touring Old Jerusalem, following in the footsteps of Jesus, including the Mt of Olives and the Garden of Gethsemane. Entering into the Old City through St Stephens Gate we visit the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus cured an invalid, and continue to the Ecce Homo Convent to view the Lithostratos, and the Pavement and visit the Praetorium, site of the public trial and condemnation of Jesus. We continue through the picturesque Bazaar streets passing the Stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa. At the Holy Sepulchre church we visit the lower level grotto. Possible burial place of Jesus. Visit St Peters’ Gallicantu. Overnight Jerusalem (B-D)

 

MONDAY 7 SEPTEMBER

Our Jewish Quarter experience will include the Cardo, holy time at the Western Wall, and the most sacred site for the Jewish people, The Temple Institute featuring authentically recreated temple instruments, and the Burnt House a window into time past. The Herodian Tunnel is now open for us to explore, and a scale model of the Temple Mount during the time of Herod is the highlight of our underground visit.  Meander through the Old City streets to the Citadel of David and Christ Church. We visit the Archaeological Park and stop to sit on the Herodian Steps Overnight Jerusalem (B-D)

 

TUESDAY 8 SEPTEMBER

We tour New Jerusalem passing by the Israeli Knesset to the Israel Museum.  We visit the Model City, the site of a quarter acre replica model of Jerusalem in the time of Christ, including the Jewish Temple. We continue toYad Vashem Holocaust Memorial and the Israel Museum to view the famous Dead Sea Scrolls. This memorial is built in memory of the six million Jews lost in the Holocaust. Truly a moving experience! We continue to Mt Zion and the location of the Upper Room where we will reflect on the events of the Last Supper. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

 

WEDNESDAY 9 SEPTEMBER

We have a sleep in and prepare for our departure from our sojourn in the Holy Lands of Egypt, Jordan and Israel. Begin our day at the Garden Tomb where we celebrate a Communion Service with the empty Tomb in the background. A beautiful serene garden in the midst of bustling Jerusalem. Afternoon at leisure before being transferred to the airport for our short flight to Munich. Overnight Munich (B) (Meals on flight)

 

THURSDAY 10 SEPTEMBER

Day in Munich – Either a free day or tour day can be arranged (B)

 

FRIDAY 11 SEPTEMBER

After breakfast morning transfer to Oberammergau. Afternoon & evening Play with dinner included TOP GRADE TICKETS Overnight accommodation in the village (B D)

SATURDAY 12 SEPTEMBER
