Depart Sydney for Tel Aviv via Bangkok (Meals on plane)

SUNDAY OCTOBER 29

Arrive Tel Aviv – After checking into our hotel we will attend the opening ceremony of the Beersheva Centenary Commemorations.After lunch tour of the city sites including the Jewish History Museum, Independence Hall and the ancient city of Joppa- O/N Tel Aviv (D)

MONDAY OCTOBER 30

After a good night’s sleep we commence our journey, travelling south to Beersheva via Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, visiting Manger Square and the Church of Nativity, and making time for some great souvenir shopping at Bethlehem’s Three Arches store. Then on to the Elath Valley where David killed Goliath. Arriving in Beersheva we will pick-up and follow the route used by the Desert Mounted Corps as they out-flanked the Turkish Gaza-Beersheba line and headed towards the Wells of Beersheva. We ascend Tel Beer Sheva where we will be able to see the ground the 4th Australian Light Horse Brigade charged over and visit the Australian Memorial Soldier Park. Arriving at the Dead Sea we will take time for a therapeutic ‘float’ in its medicinal waters. O/N Dead Sea (B-D)

TUESDAY OCTOBER 31

This morning we will attend the Mounted Parade through the streets of Beersheva, then on to visit the British WW1 Cemetery, where many young ANZACS are buried, for the official Commemoration of the Centenary of the Charge of the 800 Light Horsemen, one of the most strategic and decisive Allied victories of the First World War. The charge took place over 6kms of open ground, under heavy enemy fire and in one dramatic hour the Australian Light Horsemen, backed up by the New Zealanders, captured the city of Beersheba. It proved to be one of the most pivotal moments in modern history. After lunch, we will tour the sites occupied by the various Light Horse Regiments as they closed the noose on the Turkish defenders of the strategic wells. As the day closes we will be present for a re-creation of the charge. O/N Arad (B-D)

WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 1

Today we make an early start and go first to the “Fountain of Tears” at Arad, an incredible carved monument to the sufferings of Christ and the Holocaust. We journey east arriving at the Dead Sea to visit the site of Masada, and ascend by cable car to Herod’s magnificent summer palace and fortress for views of the Dead Sea and Jordan. It is here that the final 2 year siege of the Roman Empire against the Jews took place, ending in the mass suicide of 960 men, women and children. We will then continue our journey toEin Gedi to visit the springs where David hid from King Saul, followed by a stop at Qumran where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered in 1947. Heading north along the Jordan Valley we stop at the River Jordan opposite where Jesus was baptized by John. Continuing on, we explore the ancient city of Beit Shean where King Saul’s body was hung on the city gates, before arriving at the beautiful Sea of Galilee. O/N Galilee (B-D)

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 2

Today we explore this biblically historical area of Galilee. Our traditional sailing vessel will take us across the Sea of Galilee, stopping in the middle for a time of reflection and worship. We disembark at Nof Ginnosar, a kibbutz located on the shores of the Galilee, where we will see the remains of an ancient fishing boat from the time of Jesus. Arriving later to Capernaum, the city of Jesus, we visit the ruins of the synagogue where Jesus performed many miracles and see the new excavations of Peter’s house. We will visit St Peter’s Primacy Church, at the site where Jesus prepared breakfast for the disciples after the Resurrection and go on to Tabgha, where He multiplied the loaves and fishes to feed the multitudes. We will see Magdala, the ruins of Bethsaida and Korazin, later ascending to the top of the Mount of Beatitudes, where we will re-live the teaching of the Sermon on the Mount. O/N Galilee. (B-D)

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 3

After breakfast, we travel to the Golan Heights with Mt. Hermon in the background. We will explore Tel Dan and see the remains of Jeroboam’s pagan altar, then lunch at Kfar Bloom. We journey on to Banias, and visit Caesarea Philippi, where Peter confessed his faith in Jesus, “You are the Christ, Son of the living God.” We finish our day on the Golan Heights where many miraculous victories were won by Israel against 5 other invading nations in the Six Day War in 1967. From here we can look over into Jordan, Lebanon and Syria and begin to understand the geo-political boundaries of the only fully democratic country in the Middle East. On our return we visit the Yardenit Baptismal site on the River Jordan. Overnight Galilee. (B-D)

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 4

Starting early this morning we travel through Cana, the place of Jesus’ first miracle, to Nazareth where He spent His childhood years. We spend time at Nazareth Village recreating village lifestyle in Bible days experiencing the Nazareth Jesus knew! We go to theChurch of the Annunciation and the Mount of the Precipice. On our way to Muhraqa and Mount Carmel, where Elijah called down fire from Heaven to defeat the prophets of Baal, we stop at Megiddo, one of King Solomon’s fortress cities, and pass through the Jezreel Valley, scene of the battle of Armageddon. Arriving at the coast of the Mediterranean we will visit the ancient sea-port of Caesarea,the site of Herod’s Palace, home of Cornelius and where Paul was brought to trial. If time permits we will stop at Latrun on our way to make our ascent to the beautiful city of Jerusalem. O/N Jerusalem (B-D)

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 5

Today we enter the Old City of Jerusalem where our Jewish Quarter experience will include the Cardo, prayer at the Western Wall, theTemple Institute and the Burnt House. We ascend the Temple Mount to the Dome of the Rock, the site where Abraham offered up Isaac, Solomon built the first Temple and Jesus ministered to the people. We explore the Western Wall Tunnels and view a scale model of the Temple Mount during the time of Herod. Our day ends on Mt Zion at the Upper Room, place of the Last Supper, atCaiaphas’ House and Oskar Schindler’s grave. O/N Jerusalem (B-D)

MONDAY NOVEMBER 6

We have a full day in the Old City, following in the footsteps of Jesus. We visit the Mount of Olives, for an overview of the city, and then descend via Palm Sunday Road to the Garden of Gethsemane. Later, we walk the Via Dolorosa from Lion’s Gate to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, visit the Pools of Bethesda, St. Anne’s Church and the Antonia Fortress. We continue through the busy streets of the Old City to Christ Church and the Citadel of David Museum at the Jaffa Gate. Tonight, Sound & Light Show at David’s Citadel. O/N Jerusalem (B-D)

TUESDAY NOVEMBER 7

Today, as we make our way to the Jerusalem Archeological site we will view another magnificent panorama of the Old City from Mt Scopus, making a brief stop at the WW1 War Cemetery where many of our Anzacs are buried. For the slightly more adventurous we will walk along the ancient city walls of Jerusalem getting a bird’s eye view of both the old and modern city of Jerusalem, or if you prefer, visit the Citadel of David Museum. In the afternoon we will share together in a Communion Service at the Garden Tomb, a spiritual oasis in this bustling city and then we are free to explore more of the Old City, go shopping or take a rest. For the really adventurous, perhaps an underground exploration through Hezekiah’s Tunnel O/N Jerusalem (B-D)

WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 8

Today we tour New Jerusalem passing by the Israeli Knesset to the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls. We visit the Model City, a quarter acre replica model of Jerusalem in the time of Christ. We continue to Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial,built in memory of the six million Jews lost in the Holocaust in WW2. Truly a moving experience! This afternoon we visit Magen David Adom to view Israel’s national disaster, ambulance, humanitarian and emergency medical services operated by over 14,000volunteers O/N Jerusalem (B-D)

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 9

Today is our last day in the wonderful Land of the Bible and so we will have free time to shop, relax, revisit some of the sights of the Old City, explore something new, pray again at the Western Wall, before sharing our last dinner together prior to being transferred to the airport for our late night flight home via Bangkok (B-D)

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 9

Early morning we are off to the country of Jordan. Pick up from our hotel and cross into Jordan via Allenby Crossing. Before we begin our journey down the ancient Kings Highway to Petra we will stop at the baptismal site of Jesus at Bethany beyond the Jordan and Mt Nebo where Moses looked out over the Promised Land. Then on to Petra, the forgotten city and one of the seven wonders of the world. O/N Petra (B-D)

FRIDAY NOVEMBER 10

After breakfast we transfer to the rose city of Petra where we will be led through the spectacular chasm on horseback with our Nubian guides. You may choose to walk, or ride in a carriage if available. We will visit the Treasury, Monastery, Roman Theatre, Royal Tombs and the high place of sacrifice. Petra is magnificent, a place never to be forgotten, and referred to in the Bible as the City of Refuge. This afternoon we travel back up the King’s Highway to Amman, for a tour of the capital city of Jordan. O/N Amman (B-D)

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 11

Today we return to Israel. Arriving back in the wonderful Land of the Bible we will have the rest of our last day free for time to shop, relax, revisit some of the sights the Old City, explore something new, pray again at the Western Wall, before sharing our last dinner together prior to being transferred to the airport for our late night flight home via Bangkok (B-D)
