SUNDAY 18TH APRIL 2010

Late evening departure from Australia with Singapore Airlines to Singapore where we connect with our flight to Cairo, EGYPT. (Meals in flight)

Pyramids, Egypt

MONDAY 19TH APRIL

Early morning arrival to Cairo. Transfer to your hotel to rest and refresh. Afternoon tour of the majestic Pyramids & Sphinx. Overnight Cairo. (D)

TUESDAY 20TH APRIL

Our day begins with a visit to famous Egyptian Museum that houses TUTANKHAMEN'S TREASURES. During the afternoon we tour Coptic Cairo including the Hanging Church, Ben Ezra Synagogue and Muquattam Mountain cave church located in Cairo’s dump. Overnight Cairo. (B-D).

Mt Sinai

WEDNESDAY 21stH APRIL

An exciting day awaits us as we depart Cairo early morning by air-conditioned coach for our crossing of the SUEZ CANAL, to MT SINAI. We travel through the arid and ancient countryside of Egypt following in the footsteps of Moses to arrive at the base of Mt Sinai for overnight. An evening meeting with our tour guide and those climbing this mystical mountain. (B-D)

THURSDAY 22nd APRIL

For the adventurous, an early morning expedition to the summit of Mt Sinai has been planned. We will ride our camel two thirds of the way under the starlit desert sky. Then make a vigorous climb up the final ascent of 900 steps carved by monks over the centuries. Be prepared for unparalleled views of this mountainous region drenched in brilliant shades of purple, pink and red as the sun rises. Don't forget your camera for some tremendous shots. (torch is recommend also) It is believed that Moses viewed the burning bush near the base and received the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments on the summit. We return to our hotel for a hearty breakfast and to refresh ourselves before a visit to the St Catherine Monastery, which dates back to the 3rd Century. We then continue our "Exodus" north through the wilderness of Sinai to Elat, ISRAEL, to overnight on the shores of the Red Sea. (B-D)

FRIDAY 23RD APRIL

This morning we visit Timna and the recreated Wilderness Tabernacle. Afternoon free to enjoy the hotel facilities or a dip in the Red Sea. Overnight Elat. (B-D)

Petra, Jordan

SATURDAY 24TH APRIL

This morning we cross via the Arava Border to the land of JORDAN. We travel the ancient KINGS HIGHWAY to PETRA our Nubian guides will lead us into Petra by horseback, or you may choose to walk, or ride in your own carriage. We will visit the treasury, monastery, Roman Theatre, Royal tombs and the high place of sacrifice. The Rose City of Petra, the ancient capital of the Edomites, is magnificient. Enjoy the soft colours of the setting sun as we overnight in Petra (B-D)

SUNDAY 25TH APRIL

After breakfast we continue in the steps of Moses as we travel the age old Desert Highway to Madaba and its intricate Byzantine mosaics. Continuing north to MT NEBO where will gaze into the PROMISED LAND as Moses did. We complete our day at the Ream Al Bawdy where we enjoy a grilled dinner Bedouin style. Overnight Amman. (B-D)

Dead Sea, Israel

MONDAY 26TH APRIL

Making our crossing this morning over the Jordan River we will stand as Joshua did in the Land of Milk & Honey. Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered is our next stop. We will visit David’s place of refuge from Saul, Ein Gedi and end our day at a resort hotel located on the shores of the Dead Sea. Once you have settled in you are free to enjoy a 'float' in the medicinal waters of the Dead Sea. Bookings for the mineral rich spa treatments must be made in advance. (B-D)

TUESDAY 27TH APRIL

This morning we ascend to the mighty fortress of MASADA, the site of the last heroic 3-year stand of 960 Jewish defenders against the Roman Empire. From its heights (by cable car) we enjoy tremendous views of Jordan and the Dead Sea. Continuing our journey north, we follow the scenic Jordan Valley via Jericho (security permitting optional visit to Jericho via local taxi) and the Decapolis City of BEIT-SHEAN where King Saul's body was hung on the gates of the city. We overnight on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. (B-D)

Sea of Galilee, Israel

WEDNESDAY 28TH APRIL

Today we explore the historical area of Galilee. Remember how Jesus walked on the water? Our special traditional sailing vessel will take us across the Sea of Galilee, stopping in the middle for a time of reflection and singing. Rejoice! Jesus is alive. We disembark at Nof Ginosar, a kibbutz located on the shores of the Kinneret where we will see the remains of a boat from the time of Jesus. Arriving later to CAPERNAUM, the city of Jesus, we visit the ruins of the synagogue where Jesus performed many miracles. You will see the excavations of ST PETER'S house and visit TABGHA, where Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fishes to feed the multitudes. Later ascending to the top of the MOUNT OF BEATITUDES, we will read the Sermon on the Mount. We finish our day at the Yardenit Baptismal site on the JORDAN RIVER. Opportunity will be given for those wishing to be baptised for the first time or rededication if baptised as an infant. On our return to Tiberias we learn about the significance of Migdal, Mt Arbel and the Horns of Hittim. Overnight in Tiberias. (B-D)

THURSDAY 29TH APRIL

Free day to relax and reflect by the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Afternoon visit to Nazareth the village where Jesus grew to manhood. We spend time at Nazareth Village recreating village lifestyle during the time of Jesus. Enjoy the view from the Mount of the Precipice towards Mt Tabor. Passing through Cana where He performed His first recorded miracle we round the crest of a hill, the SEA OF GALILEE unfolds in a breathtaking panoramic scene before our eyes Overnight Tiberias. (B-D)

FRIDAY 30TH APRIL

After breakfast, we travel to the Golan Heights with Mt. Hermon in the background. We will explore Tel Dan, the Golan Heights. We plan to have lunch at Kfar Bloom. Then to Banias, visit CAESAREA PHILIPPI, where Peter confessed his faith in Jesus and Mt. Bental. We overnight at our hotel on the Sea of Galilee. (B-D)

Caesarea Aqueduct

SATURDAY 1ST MAY

We journey south this morning for a coastal tour of the MEDITERRANEAN SEA PORTS. En route, we will visit Haifa and its spectacular view over the harbour from the Baha’i Temple. We continue to Muhraka at MT CARMEL, where Elijah called down fire from Heaven on the prophets of Baal. We pass through the MEGGIDO VALLEY, the large plain where the final battle of Armageddon is prophesied to take place, visiting a chariot city of Solomon and Ahab. Next stop is CEASAREA, site of Herod's Palace, home of Cornelius and where Paul was brought to trial. We continue to follow the ocean route to Tel Aviv where we will briefly sojourn in the ancient city of JOPPA, home of Simon the Tanner and where Jonah, fleeing from the Lord, embarked his ship for Tarshish. Time to stroll through the narrow streets filled with art galleries and cafes. Beginning our memorial ascent ‘up to Jerusalem’ we arrive for overnight at the ‘City of God’. (B-D)

SUNDAY 2ND MAY

We begin our day with a pilgrimage to where it all began – BETHLEHEM of EPRAHTAH, the birthplace of Messiah. We make a short visit to Manger Square and the Church of Nativity and spend time at the Shepherds Fields cave, en route passing by Rachael's Tomb. In the afternoon visit Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in honour of the six million Jewish lives taken during WWII. Next we visit the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls and a model of the ancient city of Jerusalem in the time of Christ, including the Jewish Temple. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

Via Dolorosa, Jerusalem, Israel

MONDAY 3RD MAY

We awaken in the city of the Great King, Jerusalem, the geographic centre of the world. You can feel the atmosphere that sets Jerusalem apart from any other city in the world. We have a full day of touring Old Jerusalem, following in the footsteps of Jesus, including the Church of the Ascension, MT OF OLIVES and the GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE. Entering into the OLD CITY through ST STEPHEN'S GATE we visit the POOL OF BETHESDA, where Jesus cured an invalid and Church of St Anne. We continue to the Ecce Homo convent to view the Lithostrotos and the Pavement and visit the PRAETORIUM, site of the public trial and condemnation of Jesus. We continue through the picturesque Bazaar streets passing the Stations of the Cross along the VIA DOLOROSA arriving at the CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE. Overnight Jerusalem. (Optional evening tour to the Herodian Tunnel) (B-D)

TUESDAY 4TH MAY

Today we visit the CARDO, the heart of Jerusalem. We will journey back in time visiting the Burnt House, remains from the Second Temple period and the Temple Institute to view authentic replicas of Jewish Temple worship implements. Holy time to pray at the WESTERN WALL, the most sacred site for the Jewish people and later we ascend the TEMPLE MOUNT to the Dome of the Rock, (security permitting) the site where Abraham offered up Isaac. We visit the Hulda Steps believed to be the very steps taken by Jesus up to the Temple Mount. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

Garden Tomb, Jerusalem, Israel

WEDNESDAY 5TH MAY

This morning we visit the GARDEN TOMB and celebrate a Communion Service with the empty tomb in the background. The serenity of this place makes it a spiritual oasis within this bustling city. This is the ultimate place of worship in Jerusalem. We celebrate the resurrection of our King. Remainder of the day is free in the City of the Great King. (Optional evening tour to the David Citadel Sound & Light Show) Overnight Jerusalem (B-D)

Parthenon, Athens

THURSDAY 6TH MAY

Early morning departure from Tel Aviv to Athens,Greece. We will climb up to the marble-capped Acropolis and visit the famous Parthenon and the Erechtheion. We will then walk to nearby Mars' Hill (Areopagus) (Acts 17:22) where the Apostle Paul delivered his well-known sermon. Our tour continues with the highlights of modern Athens: we pass by the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Parliament House, Presidential Palace, Panathenian Stadium, Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Academy, the University and the National Library. Overnight Athens. (Breakfast in flight-D)

FRIDAY 7TH MAY

Late morning departure from Athens to Singapore, where you will connect with your flight home. (B-Meals in flight)

SATURDAY 8TH MAY

Evening arrival to Australia with a new understanding of the Bible and memories to last a lifetime! (Meals in flight)
