SATURDAY 21ST AUGUST

Egyptian capital, Cairo. We begin at the Cairo Museum that houses TUTANKHAMEN'S TREASURES. PYRAMIDS OF GIZA. SPHINX, the 7th wonder of the world. PAPYRUS FACTORY. Overnight Cairo. (B-D)

SUNDAY 22ND AUGUST

Cross the SUEZ CANAL, to MT SINAI. following in the footsteps of Moses to arrive at the base of Mt Sinai for overnight. An evening meeting with our tour guide and those climbing this mystical mountain. (B-D)

Eilat, Israel

MONDAY 23RD AUGUST

VERY Early morning expedition to the summit of Mt Sinai has been planned either by camel or walking. Then make a vigorous climb up the final ascent of 900 steps carved by monks over the centuries Don't forget your camera for some tremendous shots. (torch is essential) It is believed that Moses viewed the burning bush near the base and received the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments on the summit. We return to our hotel for breakfast and to refresh ourselves before a visit to the St Catherine Monastery, which dates back to the 3rd Century. Travel north through the wilderness of Sinai to Taba to cross into the land of ISRAEL. Overnight Elat on the Red Sea. (B-D)

TUESDAY 24TH AUGUST

Late morning departure to Timna and the recreated Wilderness Tabernacle. Arriving late afternoon to the Dead Sea where we will enjoy a 'float' in the medicinal waters.

WEDNESDAY 25TH AUGUST

Visit the mighty fortress of MASADA, Ein Gedi, Qumran, Dead Sea Scrolls. We travel on to Tel Aviv where we finish our day at the ancient city of Joppa, home of Simon the Tanner.

Megiddo Valley, Israel

THURSDAY 26TH AUGUST

We continue northward via the MEDITERRANEAN SEA PORTS including a visit to CAESAREA, site of Herod's Palace, home of Cornelius and where Paul was brought to trial. Afterwards, we travel to Haifa, MT CARMEL and Muhraqa, where Elijah called down fire from Heaven to defeat the prophets of Baal. We continue on passing through the MEGIDDO VALLEY, the large plain where the final battle of Armageddon is prophesied to take place. Then we travel to Nazareth including the Mount of the Precipice with spectacular views over the surrounding countryside. Through Cana, where Jesus performed His first recorded miracle. Then, as we round the crest of a hill the SEA OF GALILEE unfolds in a breathtaking panoramic scene before our eyes. Overnight Ohalo Manor Hotel, Galilee. (B-D)

SATURDAY 28TH AUGUST

We explore this historical area of Galilee. Our special traditional sailing vessel will take us across the Sea of Galilee, stopping in the middle for a time of reflection and worship. We disembark at Nof Ginnosar a kibbutz located on the shores of the Galilee where we will see the remains of a boat from the time of Jesus. Arriving later to CAPERNAUM, the city of Jesus, we visit the ruins of the synagogue where Jesus performed many miracles. You will see the new excavations of ST PETER'S house and visit TABGHA, where Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fishes to feed the multitudes and later ascending to the top of the MOUNT OF BEATITUDES,. We travel around the Sea of Galilee to the JORDAN RIVER and Yardenit Baptismal site, an area where many believe to be close to where John the Baptist baptised our Lord. SUNDAY 29TH AUGUST

Travel to the Golan Heights with Mt. Hermon in the background. We will explore Tel Dan, the Golan Heights. Lunch at Kfar Bloom. Banias, CAESAREA PHILIPPI, where Peter confessed his faith in Jesus. Overnight Ohalo Manor Hotel Galilee. (B-D)

Jerusalem, Israel

MONDAY 30TH AUGUST

South through the Jordan Valley passing by Beit Shean, where Saul’s headless body was hung on the Gates of Beit Shean. We take the Old Jericho Road with a brief stop at Wadi Kelt to view the St George’s Monastery built into the cliff face. After lunch we tour New Jerusalem and visit the YAD VASHEM HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL. Visit the Israeli Museum and the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls and the MODEL CITY, site of a quarter acre replica model of Jerusalem in the time of Christ, including the Jewish Temple. TUESDAY 31ST AUGUST

Travel to Ein Karem, birth place of John the Baptist. Visit the Biblical Gardens participating in a Passover meal in remembrance of the Last Supper. After lunch we spend time on the Mount of Olives and in the Garden of Gethsemane. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-L-D)

WEDNESDAY 1ST SEPTEMBER

Entering into the OLD CITY through ST STEPHEN'S GATE we visit the POOL OF BETHESDA, where Jesus cured an invalid and St Anne’s Church continue to the Ecce Homo Convent to view the Lithostrotos and the Pavement and visit the PRAETORIUM, site of the public trial and condemnation of Jesus. We also visit the WESTERN WALL, the most sacred site for the Jewish people and ascend the TEMPLE MOUNT to the Dome of the Rock, the site where Abraham offered up Isaac. We visit the Temple Institute to view the recreated instruments and articles for worship in the Jewish Temple. Afterwards, we continue through the picturesque Bazaar streets passing the stations of the cross along the VIA DOLOROSA arriving to the Jaffa Gate. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

THURSDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER

We start at the Citadel of David and the UPPER ROOM where we will reflect on the events of the LAST SUPPER, believed to have taken place on this site. Next we visit the site of the house of Caiaphas and later experience sacred time at the GARDEN TOMB, where will celebrate a Communion Service with the empty tomb in the background. The serenity of this place makes it a spiritual oasis within this bustling city.

Passing through picturesque Bavarian countryside we travel to Neuschwanstein to visit King Ludwig’s fairytale castle.

The PASSION PLAY will be presented after lunch in a full afternoon and evening of theatre. This unique drama will enrich us spiritually and be a vivid reminder of our Saviours suffering, death and resurrection. Overnight near Oberammergau. (B-L-D)

DAY 1

Morning departure to the Munich airport for our return flight to Istanbul. Remainder of the afternoon free to take an optional cruise on the Bosporus or relax in the teahouses overlooking Istanbul. Overnight Istanbul (B-D)

Hagia Sophia, Istanbul, Turkey

DAY 2

City tour of Istanbul visiting Topkapi Palace, the Old City¹s underground cisterns, the Saint Sophia Basilica, the majestic Blue Mosque, the Byzantine Hippodrome. We will visit the 15th Century Macedonian Ahrida Jewish Synagogue and finally the Grand Bazaar with its 4,000 shops and stalls. Overnight Istanbul (B -D)

Anzac Cove, Turkey

DAY 3

Drive to the Gallipoli Peninsula where we will visit Anzac Cove and Lone Pine cemeteries, see the old trenches and view the monument to Kernal Ataturk (1881-1938) the founder of the Turkish Republic. Then we cross the Dardanelles by ferry to the beautiful coastal city of Canakkale. Overnight (B-D)

Assos, Turkey

DAY 4

This morning we travel south to TROY to see the legendary city and the replica of the Wooden Horse and recall the great works of Homer. Then drive Alexandria Troas founded by Alexander the Great. St Paul visited here at least twice and it is where Paul raised the young Eutychus from the dead and had a vision calling him to preach the Gospel in Macedonia. Then drive to Assos, this Hellenistic city where St Paul rejoined his companions. Overnight in Assos. (B-D)

DAY 5

We continue our journey to Thyatira, the town of Lydia a seller of valuable purple cloth, she, along with all her household, was one of Paul’s first conversions to the faith. We travel on to the amazing ruins of PERGAMON where we will climb the Acropolis and stand beneath the portals of the Temple of Trajan. Visit the Acropolis with the steepest theatre of the ancient world and the Temple of Trajan. Then visit the Red Basilica, which was an Egyptian Temple, later converted to a church in the 1st century Pergamum - Thyatira – Smyrna. From Pergamun we drive through the beautiful mountains and olive groves to the port city of Izmir, known in the New Testament as SMYRNA. We visit the Velvet Castle built by one of Alexander the Great¹s generals. Overnight Izmir (B-D)

Pamukkale, Turkey

DAY 6

Morning drive to Sardis the capital of the ancient Lydia, where first coin of the world is invented. See the ruins of the early Church constructed next to the Temple of Diana. Continue to Alasehir to see the 1st century Philadelphia Church. After lunch, we drive to LAODICEA, the final church mentioned in Revelation. In the distance, you will see PUMAKKALE set on a hill above the cascades of an amazing calcified rock formation and waterfall, formed by thermal spring waters. Close to Pumakkale is the Roman city of Hierapolis. Overnight PUMAKKALE. (B-D)

Ephesus, Turkey

DAY 7

Today we tour the ruins of EPHESUS (Rev. 2:1) once the Roman capital of Asia of which Paul asked "is there a greater city"? We will walk the ancient marble streets past the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian and the Basilica of St. John the Apostle. Overnight Kusadasi. (B-D)

Parthenon, Athens, Greece

DAY 8

After breakfast we transfer by ferry to Samos and transfer from port to airport totakea midday flight to the Greek capital of Athens. Afternoon city tour of Athens. We will climb up to the marble-capped Acropolis and visit the famous Parthenon and the Erechtheion. We will then walk to nearby Mars' Hill (Areopagus) where the Apostle Paul delivered his well-known sermon. Our tour continues with the highlights of modern Athens: we pass by the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Parliament House, Presidential Palace, Panathenian Stadium, Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Academy, the University and the National Library. Overnight Athens. (B-D)

DAY 9

Our route out of Athens takes us by the Saronic Gulf via the historic Corinthian Canal (quick stop for photos) to ancient Corinth. It was to this megalopolis where the apostle Paul came and worked, established a thriving church, subsequently sending two of his epistles now part of the New Testament. Here, see all of the sites associated with his ministry: the Agora, the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Odeon, the Bema and Gallio's Seat. The small archaeological museum here is an absolute must! We continue to visit toLechaion and also see the ruins of early Christian 5th century basilica at the ancient port of Cenchreae before returning to Athens for Overnight.(B-D)

DAY 10

Today we tour Delphi where the priestess Pythia pronounced her famous oracles in the Temple of Apollo. Visits to the theatre and stadium, dinner and overnight stay in Delphi. (B-D)

Monastery, Meteora, Greece

DAY 11

Morning free to browse in the local galleries and handicraft stores. Afternoon departure for Kalambaka, location of spectacular Meteora with its thousand-year-old Byzantinemonasteries perched precariously on huge rocks. The view from here is beautiful. Overnight Kalambaka. (B-D)

DAY 12

After breakfast depart for a visit of the magnificent Monasteries of Meteora. Return to Athens for Overnight. (B-D)

DAY 13

Afternoon transfer to the airport for our flight to Istanbul where we connect to Singapore for Australia. (B - Meals in flight)
