WEDNESDAY 7TH APRIL 2010

Afternoon departure on Thai Airlines to Bangkok where we connect with our onward flight to TEL AVIV, ISRAEL. (meals in flight)

Jaffa, Israel

THURSDAY 8TH APRIL

Early morning arrival to the HOLY LAND. We will transfer to our hotel by the Mediterranean Sea to rest. In the afternoon we will sojourn in the ancient city of JOPPA, home of Simon the Tanner and where Jonah, fleeing from the Lord, embarked his ship for Tarshish. Time to stroll through the narrow streets filled with art galleries and cafes. Overnight Tel Aviv. (Meals in flight -D)

FRIDAY 9TH APRIL

En route today we will visit CEASAREA, site of Herod’s Palace, home of Cornelius and where Paul was brought to trial. We make a brief stop in Haifa to view the harbour from the Gardens that sweep down the hillside in an amazing splash of colour. We travel to MT CARMEL and Muhraqa, where Elijah called down fire from Heaven to defeat the prophets of Baal. Passing through the MEGGIDO VALLEY, the large plain mentioned in Revelation, we arrive at the beautiful Sea of Galilee for Overnight. (B-D)

SATURDAY 10TH APRIL

Today our journey takes us to Nazareth the village where Jesus grew to manhood. We visit the Mt of the Precipice for a view over Nazareth and the surrounding Jezreel Valley. We will spend time at Nazareth Village where they have recreated the life style from the time of Jesus! We will enjoy a Biblical Meal for lunch. We visit the Church of Annunciation that covers the boyhood home of Jesus and the Mount of the Precipice. Passing by Cana where Jesus performed His first recorded miracle we return to the SEA OF GALILEE Overnight Galilee. (B-L-D)

SUNDAY 11TH APRIL

Today, we explore the historical area of Galilee. Remember how Jesus walked on the water? Our special traditional sailing vessel will take us across the Sea of Galilee, stopping in the middle for a time of reflection and worship. Rejoice! Jesus is alive. We disembark at Nof Ginnosar a kibbutz located on the shores of the Galilee where we will see the remains of a boat from the time of Jesus. Arriving later at CAPERNAUM, the city of Jesus, we visit the ruins of the synagogue where Jesus performed many miracles. We will visit ST PETER’S PRIMACY CHURCH. You will see the new excavations of ST PETER’S house and visit TABGHA, where Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fishes to feed the multitudes and later we ascend to the top of the Mount of Beatitudes, where we will read the Sermon on the Mount. Before returning to our hotel we will visit the Jordan River baptismal site. Overnight Galilee. (B-D)

MONDAY 12TH APRIL

After breakfast, we travel to the Golan Heights with Mt. Hermon in the background. We will explore Tel Dan, the Golan Heights. We plan to have lunch at Kfar Bloom. Then on to Banias, visit CAESAREA PHILIPPI, where Peter confessed his faith in Jesus, and then onto Mt. Bental. We overnight at our hotel on the Sea of Galilee. (B-D)

Beth Shean, Israel

TUESDAY 13TH APRIL

Early morning departure South, following the scenic Jordan Valley passing by Beit Shean, where Saul’s headless body was hung on the Gates of the city. We cross the Jordan River into JORDAN at the Sheikh Hussein Bridge. We visit the famous mosaic at Madaba and Mount Nebo, where Moses gazed into the Promised Land. Special dinner this evening, Middle Eastern style, at Rheem al Bawdy. Overnight Amman. (B-D)

Petra, Jordan

WEDNESDAY 14TH APRIL

This morning we begin our journey down the ancient Desert Highway to PETRA. On arrival we will be led through the spectacular chasm on horseback with our Nubian guides. You may choose to walk, or ride in a carriage if available. We will visit the treasury, monastery, Roman Theatre, Royal Tombs and the high place of sacrifice. Magnificent Petra! Referred to in the Bible as the CITY OF REFUGE. Overnight Petra. (B-D)

THURSDAY 15TH APRIL

Today we travel north to the Baptismal site at Bethany on the Jordan River, said to be the place where John the Baptist baptised Jesus. Making our crossing over the Jordan River via the Alenby Bridge, we will stand as Joshua did in the Land of Milk & Honey. We end our day at a resort hotel located on the shores of the Dead Sea. Once you have settled in you are free to enjoy a ‘float’ in the medicinal waters of the Dead Sea. Bookings for the mineral rich spa treatments must be made in advance. Overnight Dead Sea. (B-D)

Saint Georges Monastery, Israel

FRIDAY 16TH APRIL

This morning we ascend by cable car to the fortress of Masada for magnificent views of the Dead Sea and across to Jordan. From the Dead Sea we travel to David’s place of refuge from Saul, Ein Gedi. Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered is our next stop. Climbing up through the ‘Mountains of Israel’ to the City of the Great King where we will overnight. Our route taking us via the Old Jericho Road (Security permitting) and Wadi Kelt where we will stop to view ST GEORGE’S MONASTERY. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

SATURDAY 17TH APRIL

Experience the atmosphere that sets Jerusalem apart from any other city in the world. We have a full day of touring Old Jerusalem, following in the footsteps of Jesus, including the MT OF OLIVES and the GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE. Entering into the OLD CITY through ST STEPHEN’S GATE we visit the POOL OF BETHESDA, where Jesus cured an invalid, and continue to the Ecce Homo Convent to view the Lithostratos, the Pavement and to visit the PRAETORIUM, site of the public trial and condemnation of Jesus. We continue through the picturesque Bazaar streets passing the stations of the cross along the Via Dolorosa arriving at the Holy Sepulchre. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

Model City, Jerusalem, Israel

SUNDAY 18TH APRIL

We begin our day with a pilgrimage to where it all began – BETHLEHEM of EPRAHTAH, the birthplace of the Messiah. We make a short visit to Manger Square and the Church of Nativity and also the Shepherds Fields, en route passing by Rachael’s Tomb. In the afternoon we visit the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls and a model of the ancient city of Jerusalem in the time of Christ, including the Jewish Temple. We spend time at the YAD VASHEM HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL, a memorial built in honour of the six million Jewish lives taken in the Holocaust. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

MONDAY 19TH APRIL

Free Day in Jerusalem. Opportunity for fellowship at Christ church, or to enjoy the hotel facilities or go exploring on your own with the Bible as your guide. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

Western Wall, Jerusalem, Israel

TUESDAY 20TH APRIL

Today we visit the CARDO, the heart of Jerusalem. We will journey back in time visiting the Burnt House, remains from the Second Temple period and the Temple Institute to view authentic replicas of Jewish Temple worship implements. Holy time to pray at the WESTERN WALL, the most sacred site for the Jewish people and later we ascend the TEMPLE MOUNT to the Dome of the Rock, (security permitting) the site where Abraham offered up Isaac. We will enter the Herodian Tunnel and visit the Hulda Steps believed to be the very steps taken by Jesus up to the Temple Mount. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

Garden Tomb, Jerusalem, Israel

WEDNESDAY 21ST APRIL

We complete our pilgrimage at the GARDEN TOMB, where we will share together in a Communion Service with the empty tomb in the background. The serenity of this place makes it a spiritual oasis within this bustling city. This is the ultimate place of worship in Jerusalem. After a farewell dinner at Yad Hasmona Kibbutz, we will board our return flight to Australia. (B-D)

Afternoon arrival to Bangkok for where we connect with our flight home. (Meals in Flight)
