THURSDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER 2010

Depart from Australia with Singapore Airlines via Singapore to Cairo, EGYPT. (Meals on plane)

FRIDAY 17TH SEPTEMBER

Early morning arrival to Cairo where we will be met and transferred to our hotel for breakfast and rest. Afternoon excursion to the Great Pyramids of Giza & the majestic Sphinx. Camel rides are available at the pyramids. Overnight Cairo. (B-D)

SATURDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER

After breakfast, we depart for a full day of touring of the Egyptian capital, Cairo. We begin at the Cairo Museum that houses TUTANKHAMEN'S TREASURES. During the afternoon we tour Coptic Cairo including the Hanging Church with a visit to a papyrus factory. We complete the day with some bargaining at the Khan El Khalili bazaar. Overnight Cairo. Mt Sinai, Egypt

SUNDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER

An exciting day awaits us as we depart Cairo by air-conditioned coach for our crossing of the SUEZ CANAL, to MT SINAI. We travel through the arid and ancient countryside of Egypt following in the footsteps of Moses to arrive at the base of Mt Sinai for overnight. An evening meeting with our tour guide, and those climbing this mystical mountain. (B-D)

MONDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER

For the adventurous, an early morning expedition to the summit of Mt Sinai has been planned. This is a vigorous 3-hour climb with the final ascent being up 900 steps carved by monks over the centuries. Be prepared for unparalleled views of the mountains of Saudi Arabia and Africa drenched in brilliant shades of purple, pink and red as the sun rises. Don't forget your camera for some tremendous shots. (torch is recommend also) It is believed that Moses viewed the burning bush near the base and received the stone tablets of the Ten Commandments on the summit. Time on the summit at the chapel. We return to our hotel for a hearty breakfast and to refresh ourselves before a visit to St Catherine Monastery, which dates back to the 3rd Century. We then continue our "Exodus" into the Promised Land of Israel, passing through the Taba border and crossing to Eilat on the Red Sea for overnight. (B-D)

TUESDAY 21ST SEPTEMBER

Free time for a swim in the RED SEA at EILAT with a late morning departure northward. We visit TIMNA and the recreated Wilderness Tabernacle. We end our day at a resort hotel located on the shores of the Dead Sea. Once you have settled in you are free to enjoy a 'float' in the medicinal waters of the Dead Sea. Bookings for the mineral rich spa treatments must be made in advance. Overnight Dead Sea. (B-D)

Masada, Israel

WEDNESDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER

This morning we begin early to the mighty fortress of MASADA, the site of the last heroic 3-year stand of 960 Jewish defenders against the Roman Empire. From its heights (by cable car) we enjoy tremendous views of Jordan and the Dead Sea. We visit David’s place of refuge from Saul, Ein Gedi. Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered is our next stop. Continuing our journey north, we follow the scenic Jordan Valley passing by Jericho and the Decapolis City of BEIT-SHEAN where King Saul's body was hung on the gates of the city. We continue north and rounding the crest of a hill the SEA OF GALILEE unfolds in a breathtaking panoramic scene before our eyes. We overnight by the Sea of Galilee. (B-D)

THURSDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER

Today we explore the historical area of Galilee. Remember how Jesus walked on the water? Our special traditional sailing vessel will take us across the Sea of Galilee, stopping in the middle for a time of reflection and singing. Rejoice! Jesus is alive. We disembark at Nof Ginosar a kibbutz located on the shores of the Kinneret where we will see the remains of a boat from the time of Jesus. Arriving later to CAPERNAUM, the city of Jesus, we visit the ruins of the synagogue where Jesus performed many miracles. You will see the excavations of ST PETER'S house. We visit TABGHA, where Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fishes to feed the multitudes and the quaint chapel of the Greek Orthodox church. Later ascending to the top of the MOUNT OF BEATITUDES, we will read the Sermon on the Mount. Overnight in Tiberias. (B-D)

FRIDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER

Free day to relax on the shores of the Sea of Galilee. Overnight by the Sea of Galilee. (B-D)

SATURDAY 25TH SEPTEMBER

After breakfast, we travel to the Golan Heights with Mt. Hermon in the background. We will explore Tel Dan, the Golan Heights. We plan to have lunch at Kfar Bloom. Then to Banias, visit CAESAREA PHILIPPI, where Peter confessed his faith in Jesus and Mt. Bental. We overnight at our hotel on the Sea of Galilee. (B-D)

Megiddo Valley, Israel

SUNDAY 26TH SEPTEMBER

We journey to Nazareth where Jesus grew to manhood visiting the Church of Annunciation, which covers the boyhood home of Jesus. We pass through Cana where He performed His first recorded miracle and spend time at Nazareth Village recreating village lifestyle during the time of Jesus. Experience the Nazareth Jesus knew! We continue south for a coastal tour of the MEDITERRANEAN SEA PORTS. En route we stop at Muhraka, where Elijah called down fire from Heaven when opposing the prophets of Baal. We will visit Haifa and its spectacular view over the harbour from MT CARMEL. We pass through the MEGGIDO VALLEY, the large plain where the final battle of Armageddon is prophesied to take place, location of a chariot city of Solomon and Ahab. We will be stopping for some time at CEASAREA, site of Herod's Palace, home of Cornelius and where Paul was brought to trial. Overnight by the Mediterranean Sea in Netanya. (B-D)

MONDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER

Late start this morning as we continue to follow the ocean route to Tel Aviv, Israel’s capital. Here we will visit the ancient city of JOPPA, home of Simon the Tanner, to stroll through the narrow streets filled with art galleries and cafes enjoying a coffee by the Sea. Departing from Tel Aviv we ascend the Mountains of Israel up to Jerusalem, the geographic centre of the world. We make a pilgrimage to where it all began – BETHLEHEM of EPRAHTAH, the birthplace of Messiah. We visit the Church of Nativity, Manger Square and the Shepherd's Fields church, en route passing by Rachael's Tomb. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

TUESDAY 28TH SEPTEMBER

We awaken in the city of the Great King. Feel the atmosphere that sets Jerusalem apart from any other city in the world. We have a full day of touring Old Jerusalem, following in the footsteps of Jesus, including the MT OF OLIVES and the GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE. Entering into the OLD CITY through ST STEPHEN'S GATE we visit the POOL OF BETHESDA, where Jesus cured an invalid, and continue to the Ecce Homo Convent to view the Lithostratos, the Pavement, and to visit the PRAETORIUM, site of the public trial and condemnation of Jesus. We continue through the picturesque Bazaar streets passing the Stations of the Cross along the VIA DOLOROSA arriving to the Holy Sepulchre Church. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B- D)

Western Wall, Jerusalem, Israel

WEDNESDAY 29TH SEPTEMBER

We stroll through the CARDO, the heart of Jerusalem. We will journey back in time visiting the Burnt House, remains from the Second Temple period and the Temple Institute to view authentic replicas of Jewish Temple worship implements. Holy time to pray at the WESTERN WALL, the most sacred site for the Jewish people, and later we ascend the TEMPLE MOUNT to the Dome of the Rock, (security permitting) the site where Abraham offered up Isaac. In the afternoon visit Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in honour of the six million Jewish lives taken during WWII. Next we visit the Shrine of the Book, which houses the Dead Sea Scrolls and a model of the ancient city of Jerusalem in the time of Christ, including the Jewish Temple. Overnight Jerusalem. (B-D)

The Garden Tomb, Jerusalem, Israel

THURSDAY 30TH SEPTEMBER

This morning we visit the GARDEN TOMB and celebrate an optional Communion Service with the empty tomb in the background. The serenity of this place makes it a spiritual oasis within this bustling city. This is the ultimate place of worship in Jerusalem. We celebrate the resurrection of our King. Remainder of the day is free in the City of the Great King. Overnight Jerusalem (B-D)

FRIDAY 1ST OCTOBER

Early morning departure to the airport for our onward flight to Athens. Opportunity to take a Grecian break or connect with your Singapore Airlines flight homeward bound. (Meals on Plane)

SATURDAY 2ND OCTOBER

Evening arrival home with a new understanding of the Bible and memories to last a lifetime. (Meals on plane)
